Visa Information

Most visitors from overseas will require a visa. Before you depart your home country, apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) visa on-line. An ETA visa is applicable to a number of countries, including England and America. Click the 'Am I Eligible?' tab on the ETA website.

Travel insurance

All delegates are strongly advised to take out personal travel insurance. Any extra-curricular activities not associated with the Workshop will be undertaken at your own risk.

Queensland climate

January/February are the hottest months of the year. Visitors are advised to wear a hat whenever they are in the sun. Visitors should also wear 30+ sunblock when exposed to more than 20 minutes in the sun.

Swimming or surfing

Visitors are advised that swimming or surfing is ONLY allowed at patrolled beaches. Visitors must swim between the Surf Lifesaving flags. Surfers and swimmers must read the conditions posted on a at the beach next to the flags. The water may look tempting, but it can be dangerous.

Travel options from Brisbane airport to the workshop

Taxi

The workshop venue is Queensland Conservatorium, 16 Russell Street, South Bank. It is 40 minutes taxi ride from Brisbane Airport. Approximate taxi cost is $40.

Book a Black and White taxi online, sms 0417 131 000, or call 131 008, or pick up a taxi from the taxi rank at the airport.

Train

Travel by train takes approximately 30 minutes. At the airport, follow the signs to the airtrain. The train departs regularly - see timetable (select Domestic or International Airport travelling to South Brisbane). Take the Gold Coast train and alight at South Brisbane. The workshop venue - Queensland Conservatorium - is visible to the right when you depart South Brisbane station. Approximate cost is $12.
